South Africa is consistently voted among the top destinations in the world to visit by travellers a year-round destination. Winters (June-October) are mild and game viewing is at its best during the dry season from May to August, when vegetation is more sparse.

What should I include on a shorter itinerary? Most people can fit in Cape Town; don’t miss Robben Island and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, a drive along the Garden Route and a couple of nights’ safari or alternatively Johannesburg and a safari. Johannesburg is increasing in popularity and the beaches and parks of the Eastern Cape are becoming more popular as an alternative at the end of the Garden Route.

Africa offers relaxation and culture, visit cities, townships and growing number of cultural museums, marvel on a safari, unwind on east coast beaches, or unwind and enjoy the nightlife.

Enjoy world-class golf courses, elephant-back safaris, the highest bungee jump in the world, ostrich-back riding, swimming with sharks and all sorts of watersports. Dolphins can be seen year-round and whales can be spotted along South Africa’s Indian Ocean coastline between June and November.
