All Aboard the sensational 'Le Boreal'
All Aboard the sensational 'Le Boreal'

When I was told I would be staying on a brand new cruise ship and sailing from Hamburg to Copenhagen I was a little unsure, but how wrong I was!

The brand new Le Boreal, launched by Compagnie de Ponant earlier this year is like being on your own personal yacht. It is big enough to have the facilities you would expect from a 5* cruise ship such as beautiful restaurants, a lovely pool, a range of bars and a spa but not so big that you spend your whole time getting lost onboard. The staterooms are a good size and the majority have their own private balcony where you can sit and watch the world sail by.

We set sail from Hamburg and it was lovely to watch sail away from the city at night and then wake up the next morning on the beautiful Kiel Canal. We also got a great send-off when leaving the German town of Lubeck, there was a brass band and all the locals came to wave us off, with everyone watching from their balconies it was an emotional experience!

The highlight of the trip has to be the Captain’s Cocktail Party, it was a lovely sunny evening and myself and the other passengers were greeted by the Captain along with champagne and canapes, a fitting end to a great trip.
