Barbados, an island nation of the Lesser antilles is situated 168 kilometres east of St Vincent & the Grenadines - and 400 kilometres north-east of Venezuela, placing it conveniently outside of the region's principal hurricane belt.

Flights
British Airways flies daily direct from London Gatwick, landing at Grantley Adams International Airport, located in the south-east corner of Barbados. Alternatively, Virgin Atlantic has frequent direct flights from both London Gatwick and Manchester.
