The Garden Route Luxury Holidays
The Garden Route region runs along a scenic stretch of coastline between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. An area of outstanding and diverse natural beauty, visitors are drawn year-round to its indigenous forests, freshwater lakes, wetlands, hidden coves and long beaches. This lovely region provides a striking study in contrasts, with mountains crowding close to a dramatic shoreline dotted with golden beaches and bays, meandering trails and forests inviting long, leisurely drives, and with lakes and rivers lending themselves to swimming, boating and fishing.
You can fly or drive to the “actual” start of the Garden Route at George. From here, you can either drive yourself or take a chauffeured car along the 150km of picturesque countryside to the end of the Garden Route at Storms River. You can then fly out of Port Elizabeth to your next South African destination - or perhaps answer the call of the wild with a safari adventure on the Eastern Cape!
We recommend you take the Garden Route at a leisurely pace, allowing yourself between three and seven days minimum. Stop off at the lovely beaches at Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, none of which are further than a 15 minute drive from any of our featured hotels.
