All of these offer little pockets of privacy, all suites have gorgeous day beds, freestanding bath tubs and open-air showers completing the fantasy. Hillside Pool Suites have their own private plunge pool and sunbathing deck.

The restaurant and bar border the long, sweeping beach and, unusually for an all-inclusive resort, the menu is all à la carte, with excellent house wines and premium branded drinks on offer. Most evenings dinner is accompanied by the serenading of local musicians, followed by a relaxing drink at the bar or dancing the night away on the platinum sand beach of this elegant, yet informal property.

Days can be spent lazing in the sun, or at the hillside mini-spa. Cooled by Caribbean breezes with panoramic ocean views, it offers a host of indulgent therapies.

Each of the 25 spacious detached single storey Cottage Suites combine the island’s colonial past with modern-day luxury. All suites have a large verandah, double day beds and plantation chairs.
