Introduction to Longitude 131
Introduction
This extraordinary resort comprises 15 Luxury Tents on an isolated sand dune near the border of the magnificent Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Each tent is as unique as its surroundings, paying homage to early Australian pioneers with books, maps and unusual artefacts among the
luxurious furnishings. The tents are elevated, allowing spectacular views from their viewing platforms of the brilliant changing colour displays over Uluru.
Telescopes let you marvel nightly at the sweeping constellation of southern stars, so brilliantly visible in the unpolluted desert skies. The central Dune House provides relaxed surroundings in which to mingle with your few fellow
guests over a quiet drink and excellent food using fresh Australian produce. Alongside the dining area are a lounge, library and self-service open bar.
All meals, beverages and transfers are included in your stay, as is a selection of special tours exploring this remarkable desert region. Learn about native flora and fauna and bush food and medicine on a Botanical Walk through dunes, spinifex, mulga woodlands and desert oaks or visit Uluru and Kata Tjuta and discover their spiritual meaning through Aboriginal arts, stories and songs at the Cultural Centre.
Enjoy the choice of many available tours such as the Uluru and Kant Ju Sunset Tour, see the astonishing colour changes on Uluru at close hand, from a quiet gorge at monolith’s base.
