Introduction to The Calabash
Introduction
Intimacy is the keynote at this unspoilt Grenadian retreat where personal attention is paramount, the ambiance is warm and friendly and an understated luxury pervades the whole resort.
It’s the thoughtful touches that makes this place so irresistible to the large number of repeat guests – waking up to the aroma of freshly-ground coffee whilst your maid lays out an à la carte breakfast on your balcony, enjoying fresh fruit on the beach in the morning or the traditional afternoon tea and indulging in the complimentary canapés delivered to your room as you prepare for dinner.
Your dinner is a truly special affair.
Following a five-year long association with the Calabash, Gary Rhodes opened the only Rhodes restaurant outside the UK at Calabash in 2004, restaurant Rhodes remains a popular choice, fusing a ‘taste of Grenada’ and a ‘touch of Rhodes’ for an unforgettable gourmet experience.
The layout of the hotel echoes the location, set in a crescent cove complemented by a beautiful white sand beach. And relaxation is a major theme throughout, you can luxuriate beside the large swimming pool, or enjoy a treatment from the visiting therapists. For an alternative distraction, sample one of the non-motorised water sports, scuba diving or even a game of tennis on the floodlit courts. However you choose to spend your time, you cannot fail to be charmed by the unobtrusive, gracious nature of this delightful hotel.
