Introduction to Soneva Fushi by Six Senses
Introduction
When your seaplane lands at Soneva Fushi, the staff greets you with
a bag for your shoes, setting the relaxed tone for your stay. Even
the managers here go barefoot, a trend you may find yourself emulating as
your toes encounter the soft-white sand of the islands beaches.
Sister to Soneva Gili , Soneva Fushi takes nature as its theme, using sustainable woods
and natural fabrics to create the stylish minimalist interiors. Thus bamboo
ladders act as towel rails, messages are delivered to guests in bamboo
canisters, and the Deluxe Crusoe Villas – wonderfully spacious thatched
houses with huge balconies and canopied daybeds – have rope banisters
up the stairs and open-air bathrooms. These charming features are
enhanced by modern comforts such as air conditioning, safes and
hairdryers, with TV and video available on request. All the villas offer
tremendous seclusion, though for the utmost in luxury and privacy, the Jungle Reserve offers its own spa suite and treehouse.
The island itself is larger and lusher than most in the region, ringed by
secluded beaches with a green, unspoilt forest at its heart. Cycle through
the trees, stroll the isles perimeter and enjoy a spot of solitary snorkelling
on the nearby coral reef or sail to deserted islets with a picnic prepared by
the resort. After the days exertions, revive weary muscles in the Six
Senses Spa, where guests can indulge in a 30 minute massage.
In the evenings, dine on fresh seafood and produce from the resorts
own organic vegetable garden, in the Fresh in the Garden Restaurant, situated just above the tree canopy or enjoy
a moonlight seaside barbecue. Adjacent to the restaurant is the newly opened Ever Soneva So Down to Earth observatory where you can view the stars and be dazzled by the nights sky. The resort chooses not to offer evening entertainment, ensuring guests find the seclusion and relaxation they seek.
