Introduction to Amanjena
Introduction
A spectacular 3900 square metre basin provides the serene centre to this architect-designed resort. From here the 32 suptuously furnished pavilions and 6 two-storey maisons fan out in two directions, separated by reflecting pools in a landscape of lawns and vines, fountains and glittering hand-cut ties.
You may just be persuaded into a game of tennis on one of the floodlit courts, or a round of golf at the adjourning course, but more likely, stirred from response, you might fancy breakfast or lunch by the pool or a gentle stroll to the health centre for a hammam or massage. Hammams and steam baths are central to Moroccan life, which is why it has pride of place at the heart of Amanjena Health and Beauty Centre. Feast on delicious local cuisine for dinner in the Restaurant or genuine Thai cuisine in the Thai Restaurant or sample some continental cuisines in the Moroccan restaurant. Spend a languid evening browsing the myriad of books, newspapers, magazines, CDs and DVDs in the beautiful lantern-lit library. Should the beautiful landscapes of Marrakech inspire you, the library also has a variety of drawing materials, from canvases to watercolours.
Certainly, you will find that the in-house greeting could not be more apt “As-salaam alaykum” – Peace be with you.
