Introduction to Denis Island
Introduction
Cast adrift, almost a hundred kilometres north of Mahé is privately owned Denis Island. Formerly a thriving coconut plantation, the 131 hectare island is now home to just 25 cottages offering complete seclusion and comfort to the discerning guest.
Snorkelling, diving and fishing are spectacular here, and nature guides can walk you round the rest of the island explaining the wonders of the forest. Nature plays an important role in the ambience of the island, from the evocative calls of exotic birds to the shimmering of the crystal clear lagoon. Immerse yourself in a simple yet beautiful cottage where luxury meets Robinson Crusoe - dreamily conducive to romance. Here you find yourself completely cut off from the outside world – there are no televisions, radios or telephones in the rooms,
and the island is just out of mobile phone range – leaving you free to re-enact your wildest castaway fantasies undisturbed! The furnishings are natural and understated so as not to detract from the glorious scenery outside, with unpretentious yet comfortable furniture, highly polished wooden floors and a shot of vibrant turquoise in the soft furnishings.
