Introduction to Fairmont Zimbali Lodge
Introduction
Zimbali, Zulu for ‘valley of flowers’, is one of Southern Africa's most exclusive hideaways, set
within the serene confines of a coastal forest reserve on the north coast of KwaZulu-Natal - a
natural paradise and home to mischievous dolphins and a myriad of sea and bird life.
From
elaborately hand carved chests and beds to olde world bathrooms with free standing Victorian
baths and hand moulded basins, the décor is unique yet classical in style.
There is a dedicated
butler service, an 18-hole Tom Weiskopf championship golf course, and the most spectacular views,
which extend from the pool, down onto the river merging far out into the sea and the horizon
beyond.
Take a short shuttle ride down to the beach club where you may relax on one of the most
deserted beaches banking the Indian Ocean. Or enjoy nearby activities which include horse riding,
deep-sea diving and excursions to Shakaland and the famous battlefields at Rorke’s Drift.
