Originally a private retreat, Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Lodge is now an oasis of conservation and harmony overlooking one of the largest lakes of Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, an exclusive 63,000 hectare reserve which forms part of the Kruger National Park. The main house offers exceptional game viewing from the main lounge and dining areas of the various groups of wild animals that congregate at the nearby watering hole. Spacious viewing areas, a rim-flow swimming pool and a library are also offered. Lunch is served next to the pool, while dinner is served under the stars in the open-air boma, or in the elegant dining room. The most thrilling part of any stay is the Chitwa Chitwa safari experience. Game drives are scheduled daily and take place at dawn and dusk under the watchful eyes of a professional ranger and tracker team. Guests are also encouraged to join the daily walking safaris which take place mid-morning. Chitwa Chitwa is one of the only places in the Kruger that accepts children of all ages. With face painting, making spoor moulds of animal tracks with plaster of paris, roasting marshmallows and drinking hot chocolate, and fairytales left on your children’s bed at night this really is an action packed family holiday.
