Introduction to Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, Thailand
Introduction
A stunning new addition to Koh Samui, the Four Seasons boasts one of the most beautiful locations
in Thailand, nestling on an away-from-it-all hillside bordering a national park, with gorgeous views
over the Gulf of Siam and its ocean-strung islands.
The whole resort has been built around the natural environment – no less than 856 coconut trees
thrive here – you may even find the odd one growing through your decking!
Each villa opens onto an amphitheatre of sky, sea and islands, with its own infinity pool, lovely ‘egg’
shaped tub, outside mini-bar, dining and daybed, and ‘toys’ including a flat screen tv and iPod
docking station. Fabulous two to five bedroom Residences, located on the neighbouring hillside, will
also be available for sale this year.
Follow the trail of wooden steps though the jungle canopy to the forest spa, with individual treatment
rooms housed in five salas – each with two indoor and two outdoor Thai-style massage beds, an
outdoor shower, bathtub, steam room or indoor rain shower.
By day relax on the secluded sandy beach, dip in the beach-side pool, take a yoga or meditation class
in the open-air hilltop pavilion, or enjoy a game of tennis. Dining options include the Lan Tania
restaurant situated on the hillside or Pla Pla, the more casual beach-side restaurant. Or of course you
could dine in total, romantic seclusion in your own villa.
Facilities
Lan Tania Restaurant; Lan Tania, meaning blue palm in Thai, is situated on the hillside, offering breathtaking views of the Resort, the ocean and the surrounding islands. Featuring Thai, Italian, Asian and American cuisine, most courses are served family style. Guests can choose to dine indoors in air-conditioned comfort, or outdoors where large overhead fans provide a comfortable breeze. Seats 102.
Pla Pla: meaning many fish in Thai, is a casual beach-side restaurant offering delectable seafood and spectacular views of the ocean and Koh Pha Ngan island. Fresh fish are caught daily and prepared according to individual request. Seating for 108 is available on the open terrace or right on the white-sand beach.
The spa offers a delicate balance of refreshment for mind, body and beauty. Centuries-old healing techniques, summoning the secrets of herbal and holistic remedies, are deeply rooted in Thailand’s rich spa heritage. Further calmed by the gentle sights and sounds of the jungle, guests of the Spa can retreat from hectic urban life into the authentic peace of Samui.
Individual treatment rooms are housed in five salas, or covered verandas, each with two indoor and two outdoor massage beds, two outdoor showers and an outdoor bathtub, along with a steam sauna or an indoor rain shower. A separate treatment sala is prepared for facials, waxing and other options, while the salon can provide finishing touches for special occasions. Afterwards, sip a tropical juice and savour the feeling of serenity in the Spa's relaxation sala.
To experience the Spa's massage services, guests must be at least 18 years of age; for facial services, 16 years; and for the sauna/steam facilities, 14 years.
A nearby yoga pavilion is open from sunrise to sunset for guests to practise in private or to join yoga lessons led by the Resort's resident yogi. Private yoga lessons may also be arranged for a fee.
Amidst swaying coconut trees by the white-sand beach, the pool's infinity edges blend seamlessly with the turquoise water of the private bay. Sip a refreshing drink or enjoy lunch by the pool, then explore a myriad of beach activities for the whole family. Thoughtful Four Seasons attendants provide ice water, chilled towels and Evian water spritz at poolside or on the beach, while lifeguards patrol both areas
Tennis enthusiasts and beginners alike can take advantage of the two hard courts at the Resort, both lit for night play. A professional trainer is on site to help guests improve their game.
